A child who saw a dream to start his career as a cricketer, as he watched the 1983 World Cup win, decided to win the World Cup for his country. With his dream debut, he became the youngest player to debut for India at the age of 16, playing against Pakistan. Over the next two decades, he managed to establish himself as one of the greatest players to have ever played the game of cricket. The God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar.

Career Highlights:

Scoring his first Test hundred at the age of 17 against England at Old Trafford, he surprisingly took 79 games to score his first One Day International Century. He went on to become the first-ever international cricketer to score a double-century in ODI. He is the only player in the history of cricket to score 100 centuries in all formats, and the record will stand for many future decades.

During his 24-year cricket career, he managed to score 34,357 runs in 664 matches across all formats, and he achieved his childhood dream of winning the World Cup in 2011. After that, he announced his retirement from all formats of cricket on November 16, 2013, bidding farewell to his fans and the game of cricket.

Thoughts:

Becoming a God of Cricket is not something that can be achieved by any remedy; it takes generations to produce such a great player. Hard work and persistence do not always lead to greatness, and this case was one in a billion. On his 50th birthday, we remember the incredible contribution that Sachin Tendulkar made to the world of cricket.
